Modelled on the classic Hotel Del Coronado near San Diego, California, this historic-styled property is Disney’s crown jewel and most upmarket offering. Opened in 1988, its timeless appeal and attention to detail justifies its position as the company's flagship resort.

This elegant resort is situated on the doorstep of Disney’s Magic Kingdom park, with a view of Cinderella Castle and pretty Seven Seas Lagoon. All of Walt Disney World’s parks, shopping, and dining are easily accessed by an internal boat, bus and monorail system, free for guests’ use. Orlando International Airport is 18 miles (11km) away and an enormous array of offsite shopping, dining and attractions are within 10 miles (6km).

The main building’s magnificent lobby sets a tone of Victorian splendour, accented by period furnishings with a modern touch. Outer buildings situated around a courtyard are less themed but more private, though rooms are equally intimate and luxurious. Although vast, the resort has a boutique feel, and a stay in a club room or suite in the main building is a ‘bucket list’ experience.
